Rikku is the young, feirce captain of the Blade Team. Since she was seven years old, she's carried out the responsibility of caring for the Blade Team and her younger cousin, Draken. Draken lost his mother at birth, and his father when he was just two years old. Since then, Rikku's father, Kan, took Draken in as his own son. Since Kan wasn't around the house often, always training with his Wing Liger, Rikku cared for the young Draken. There was a five years difference between the two, but Rikku tried to make it seem as if there wasn't any at all. She grew to love Draken, and Draken grew to love her. Soon after Draken's nineth birthday, he was named second in command for the Blade Team. It was a small team, ever since Rikku took lead of it at her young age, but it was a good team. Soon after Draken's promotion and the rise of the Blade Team, the two became unseperable, even in the face of danger. On Draken's eleventh birthday the village came under attack. Rikku's father was the first to take action, ordering Rikku and Draken to take shelter in the basement. They stayed in the dark, half flooded basement for 24 hours, before Rikku realized they needed to get out if they were going to live. There was only one way they would survive, they needed to pilot a zoid. Rikku had some experience in Command Wolf IV, which was the villages primary source of zoids for fighting. Draken on the other hand, had no experience what-so-ever.
As Rikku ran up from the basement with her cousin, they kicked the door down to experience their base on fire. Draken was devistated and wanted revenge. Rikku knew there was no way they could stay and she wasn't going to bring them back for a while, knowing Draken wanted this revenge. She grabbed her younger cousin and fled to the base's zoid hanger where they saw it. The Blade Team's forbidden zoid. The only zoid left in the hanger. Rikku grew frantic, trying to search the hanger for another zoid, any zoid. No one had been able to pilot the forbidden zoid in decades. As a blast boomed down the hall of the zoid hanger, Rikku took Draken's hand and jumped on the zoid. Rikku's eyes filled with ambition, she clutched the control board of the giant zoid begging it to move. As the hanger began to collapse, Draken clutched the zoids controls and pleaded for it to start as the zoid roared to life. The Liger Zero had found its pilot, and they took off to Ze'Ruft.
At Ze'Ruft they found little comfort. Draken could barely pilot the zoid without Rikku behind him, guiding his every movement. Rikku had never felt so proud and yet jealous at the same time. As they reached the city of Ze'Ruft, they realized they could never go back to their home town until they became stronger. Rikku continued to take care of Draken, now more like a brother or a son to her then anything else. She began to feel zoid piloting and the Blade Team would never find her again, until one fateful night, one year later. In a deep sleep, Rikku and Draken awoke to a thundering roar and a loud blast. Draken sprung to his feet and rushed to his Liger Zero thinking this is where his training would come in handy. Rikku rushed after him and ran to the roof of the house shouting after him. She could see it. The glowing eyes of a familure zoid, her father's zoid. Rikku ran to the edge of the roof as the zoid turned its head to face Draken's Liger. The Liger Zero stayed still, Draken inside, amazed to see the old zoid. As the liger leaned its head down, Rikku's eyes grew soft, beginning to think her long thought dead father had survived and found them at last, but as the cockpit opened it revealed an empty seat. There was no doubt about it, this was her father's Wing Liger. She knew what she was meant to do after her long thought and stare at the magnificent zoid. This was the beginning of Rikku, the captain of the Blade Team, pilot of the mighty WING LIGER!
